The Hickman’s new Independent Plus+ program is a service that offers great benefits while living your independent senior lifestyle. Here are the differences between Independent Plus+ and independent senior living.
What Is Independent Plus+?
We might understand independent living as living your retirement lifestyle in an apartment/cottage/condo with bedrooms, full kitchen, bathroom, and washer/dryer, etc. Similar to living at home but in community style. Independent Plus+ is slightly different, in a great way. You still get that independent lifestyle, but meals are cooked by our culinary team for you to enjoy in the communal dining room. Plus, you have the option to include weekly housekeeping/laundry services.
What is Included in Independent Plus+?
Different communities may offer different amenities for their services. Here at The Hickman meals are included. Other amenities such as the use of an emergency pendant system, daily activities, utilities, Wi-Fi, telephone, and basic cable TV are all part of your monthly rent. There is also the amazing option of on-call maintenance if anything urgent needs to be fixed in your apartment.
Supportive services such as visiting primary care physician, physical, occupational, and speech therapies, and visiting podiatry, audiology, dermatology, labs, x-ray allow you to still live your retirement fully with the peace of mind you have the option of receiving other services at hand.
Different types of Independent Plus+
Independent Plus+ has different apartment layouts. Depending on what community you are looking for they might offer standard layouts. The Hickman offers 1-bedroom, deluxe studios, and studios all in the wonderful historical building. Whether you prefer a kitchenette or nothing but counter space to customize your apartment, the options are up to you.
