Meals on Wheels Appreciation Luncheon

The Hickman’s Director of Culinary and Nutritional Services, Rodney Sykes, was recently invited to attend an appreciation luncheon hosted by Meals on Wheels of Chester County (MOWCC). The Hickman has a longstanding relationship with MOWCC, preparing meals for older adults along three of their delivery routes across the county since August 2022. Feedback from The Hickman’s MOWCC meal recipients has been extremely positive. Because of this success, we’ve since added a fourth delivery route to our weekly meal prep.

Meals on Wheels Chester County promotes the health and well-being of local homebound seniors over the age of 60 by bringing personal interaction and nutritious meals right to their doorsteps. With this additional route to support, Sykes and his team prepare approximately 35 meals each day on top of the 70+ they prepare for our residents. “We all, as a team, really enjoy being a part of helping seniors in the area in need and continuing our daily mission, on a broader scale,” noted Sykes. “[MOWCC] has a great team behind the scenes as well, which also makes it very easy for us.” We at The Hickman are thrilled with the opportunity to reach more of our senior neighbors in need with the care and compassion that are the foundation of everything we do!
