Centenarian Spotlight: Josephine Teseroni at 100

We continue our Centenarian Spotlight Series with another cherished member of our community: Ms. Josephine Teseroni, who celebrated her 100th birthday in March 2025. Her story is filled with kindness, energy, and quiet wisdom—just like the woman herself.

A Jersey Girl with a Big Heart and a Brilliant Mind

Born on March 19, 1925, in New Jersey, Josephine was the youngest of seven siblings. She built a professional career in bookkeeping and accounting, working for Western Electric and later a publishing company.

She married her late husband, Henry Teseroni, and together they raised their son, Richard. Today, she beams with pride as a grandmother to twin granddaughters.

A Passion for Books, Jazz & Community Life

Since moving to The Hickman in 2017, Josephine has become a beloved presence in the community. Known for her kind nature and ever-present stack of romance novels, she’s an avid reader who finds joy in lifelong learning.

When she’s not turning pages, Josephine can be found participating in:

  • Daily exercise classes

  • Art workshops

  • Musical performances (with a love for jazz!)

  • Knitting and social gatherings

She also fondly remembers traveling with friends to Massachusetts and the Poconos, always with an open heart and a sense of adventure.

Her Secret to 100 Years? Generosity and Grace

Josephine marvels at having reached her 100th birthday and attributes it to the kindness of others. But those who know her would say she radiates that kindness herself—bringing joy, curiosity, and warmth to everyone around her.

Her story is a shining example of a life well-lived: full of positivity, thoughtfulness, and community spirit. We’re so grateful to have her as part of The Hickman family.
