Resumption of larger group activities, communal dining, and sunshine on our faces on the patios has brought a cheerful feeling inside our walls. According to Life Loop there were over 250 attended activity programs amongst the residents on Monday and Tuesday alone.  Indeed, we have been busy enjoying pre-pandemic life once again. The CDC and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have openly expressed the need to join families together again. While we have no formal guidelines from our licensing entity, we are expecting alliance with the following protocols for Fully Vaccinated residents:

Effective Saturday March 13th, any family who would like to pick their loved one up for an outing or sit on the grounds of the Quaker Block may do so observing the following:

  • Call ahead to your loved one or Nursing staff to schedule your outing so that we may help them prepare and meet you in the lobby
  • Please do not proceed beyond the lobby

Effective Monday March 15th between the hours of 10am and 7pm 2 visitors per resident may enter the building while observing the following conditions:

  • Must be screened in at the front desk and be free from any unusual symptoms
  • Must be masked
  • Should go directly to their loved ones room and keep the door shut
  • Refrain from being in common areas

Thank You for your patience and support as we move forward with the re-opening process!

Best,

Toni Kelly, LPN, PCHA, CPASRM
Interim Executive Director

I’m always recommending The Hickman. As long-time residents in the area, this is our community. Living here has given my Dad a sense of belonging... a feeling of home.”

The staff here really do care. I enjoy the social aspects, and the food is excellent.”

Within the first week, my Dad settled in. Not long after that, he said one day 'I'm glad it was my idea to come here.”
