Valentine’s Day Dinner

“How do I love thee? Let me count the ways”. The Hickman’s annual Valentine’s Day dinner features a formal sit-down dinner, love poems read by Executive Director John Schwab and live harp music during dinner.

Resident Yard Sale

Time to clean out your closets, basements and garages! Held in early June, the Resident Yard Sale is open to residents, friends, neighbors and the community at large. Not only an opportunity for the community and residents to come together, but a great way to unload all those “surplus items”!

The Art of Caring

The Hickman’s annual fundraiser to support The Hickman Expansion Project, The Art of Caring is an evening of fun, fine food, entertainment and a live and silent auction featuring distinctive and unique items! Held in October, The Hickman sees its already lovely terrace transformed into a charming gala event under a beautifully decorated tent. For more information please see the Art of Caring page of this website.

Dessert Social

Held the evening following the Art of Caring, this resident event is a lovely evening on The Hickman terrace featuring live music, a sampling of delicious desserts, coffee, cider and wine. The crisp autumn air coupled with the twinkling lights in the tent make for a magical night!

Chili Cook Off

If it’s October, it must be Chili time! Although The Hickman’s “Knock You Off Your Rocker” chili has yet to win the elusive first place award in the annual West Chester Rotary Club Chili Cook Off, we are gaining ground with a Third Place finish in 2007. The residents are the real winners as they get to sample our chili without leaving The Hickman!
