A short term stay; individuals choose respite care at The Hickman for many reasons. It may be to provide a bit of extra support when recovering from surgery, transitioning from a rehabilitation stay or to supplement care provided by a family member. Respite care can also be a great way to personally experience The Hickman if you are thinking about moving for a long-term stay. Come for respite care…stay several weeks and decide if it’s right for you! The Hickman provides respite care in fully furnished rooms.
Three meals daily, personal care assistance as needed, personal laundry service, weekly laundering of the linens, weekly housekeeping, 24 hour staffing and access to all activities and amenities offered by The Hickman. All utilities including cable television are provided at no cost. A telephone is provided with no charge for incoming calls. Outgoing calls are charged applicable tolls.
Respite Admission Process
Prior to admission, applicants must submit a current medical evaluation form completed by their primary physician. Applicants then must be personally interviewed by a staff member to determine if their personal care needs can be met by The Hickman and which level of care would be most appropriate. Based on the interview, the respite resident is assigned a Level of Care and will be charged a daily rate.
