Historic charm and ambiance are not the only hallmarks of The Hickman. The Hickman has long enjoyed a reputation for serving delicious, home cooked meals in our three cozy but graciously appointed dining rooms.

The Hickman Dining Service provides breakfast, midday dinner, and a light supper seven days a week. The Hickman’s dedicated foodservice professionals provide delicious, healthy and well-balanced meals for our residents Our menus feature freshly prepared homestead and banquet classics as well as homemade soups and desserts, with updated recipes containing minimal added fats, salt, and sugar. A wide variety of appealing alternatives are offered for those with temporary or permanent dietary restrictions.

Our courteous and experienced serving staff present meals family style, and residents may choose as much or as little of each item as they wish. Guests may be invited to dine with residents.

During the summer and early fall residents have the option of “Al Fresco” dining. Residents may chose to have the mid-day meal on the beautiful and relaxing Hickman Patio.

The Dining Staff also cater annual dinner events for our residents, including Thanksgiving, Winter Holiday, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, a Hawaiian Luau, and a Country Hoedown Picnic (see special events page), as well as volunteer events and appropriately themed meals on other significant days during the year.

The Hickman is proud to disclose the scores from our annual and unannounced inspections conducted by The Chester County Health Department. The best possible score is 100. The Hickman’s scores from the past 9 years have been:
