James Skarbek with Hickman Residents

Long time Hickman Volunteer James Skarbek may be best known for his lively hosting of Jeopardy for the Residents every Saturday, but he is also a talented young man with a big heart. James recently was graduated from Wilmington Friends School and has just moved to New York City, where he is a freshman at the exclusive Fashion Institute of Technology. James volunteered his time and talent to work with six Hickman residents pictured here: Myrtle Nash, Helen Ettore, Joan Gardner, Ann Stancato and Naomi Frank (Regina Salamone not pictured). The team worked over a 6-week period on James’ design which was inspired by his love of the Pre-Raphaelite art movement. Residents donated buttons and fabric and helped with the painting and sorting of materials to bring James’ vision to life.

James and the Hickman Residents are first year art of caring artists!
