As a proud descendant of the Taino Indian Nation of the Antilles, Maria spent formative years living in Puerto Rico. Her paintings draw on Latin American and Spanish culture and express her sincere interest in people. She works in a wide variety of media and even designed the striking stained glass windows of her church, St. Norbert Church in Paoli. Maria has had many group and solo shows and her work is in collections throughout the world. She is a signature member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Society and was named outstanding woman in the arts in the community by The Women’s Resource Center in Wayne.
