Laura Barton

Laura Barton received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA in 1984. She owns Barton Design, Inc - a full service graphic design company. She also studies jewelry design, stained glass, and is an avid runner. Her main passion, however, is painting. Her oil landscapes, cityscapes, interiors, and still lives have been shown in numerous galleries, both locally and regionally. Her work is in several private collections, here and abroad. She was recently profiled in Catherine Quillman’s 100 Artists of the Brandywine Valley, which was published in 2010, and includes such local luminaries as the Wyeth family, Schoonover, Pyle and Sculthorpe.

She works primarily on location - en plein air - and can be spotted in the fields, woods and quaint streets of Chester County. Ms. Barton's paintings range from impressionist to abstract impressionist in style, and capture color and light in its many manifestations.

Her unique hinged-top table was painted in the Stroud Preserve and the birds depicted – Goldfinch; Bobolink; Tufted Titmouse; & Bluebird – were all viewed while she was painting in the meadow. With the hinged top up, you can view the meadows and the birds together!

Laura Barton is a fifth year Art of Caring artist!
